Without bees and other pollinators, we wouldn't have such pagan staples as apples and pumpkins. More importantly, the diversity of plant and insect life is maintained through your support of beeswax and honey - as well as through the planting of flowers full of nectar and pollen.
Honey is also much better for your body than the processed sugar consumed by most Americans. Some people even swear that eating honey (especially honey made from local bees) actually helps one build a tolerance to allergies. So give your body (your temple) a break and use honey instead of sugar.
But that's not all! In addition to the health and environmental issues listed above, beeswax candles make good magickal sense. Candles made from beeswax are cleaner and longer burning than other candles, allowing you to maximize the use of your spell candle.
